From the depths of the underworld, Xibalba rises to bring the ultimate mix, blending hardcore with doom and death metal.

In 2007, when Xibalba released their demo 12.2012, they grabbed the balls of every hardcore kid into breakdowns and two-steps and threw them against a brick wall. This demo might’ve been the heaviest thing to come out in hardcore for a number of years. To put it simply, Xibalba take every form of evil from crossover metal/hardcore bands in the ’90s, like Disembodied and Crowbar, and turn the tuning down to Drop Z. Instead of ripping off any other band who tried to combine the likes of metal and hardcore, Xibalba have carefully constructed a sound for themselves that raises the bar of “heavy” to an all new, approaching the unbearable, weight, in the best possible fashion.

Originally released by Xibalba as the 'Place Of Fear' demo with the Mayan patterned artwork on printed foldout paper with handwritten CDr in 2007. Second press released in 2009 with the pyramid artwork and '12.2012' title designation on the artwork but with same tracks and track titles on CDr.

Finally released for the first time on 180 gr heavyweight vinyl, remastered for vinyl and a free digital download included. With on the B-side a screenprint. All numbered.
